I very rarely take the opportunity to get serious on here. It's more fun to have fun and show pix I guess. But lately I've been feeling very blessed, and very in love with my husband! Why? This pregnancy has been a rough one. Not rough as in I'm sick but rough as in I just don't feel well! I guess turning 30 was harder than I thought :) I've been SO tired! And with that I think a little cranky. Chad has taken it all in stride. He's been so patient and has really taken up all the slack that I've so eagerly let go of. Half the time he puts the kids to bed by himself cuz I've collapsed around 7. Haha, no seriously! After we've been in bed I've woken to hear the sounds of dishes being cleaned up and put away, I manage to get half a smile in before I've zonked out again. I can't count the number of times he's vacuumed and done laundry in the last few months. And he's been such an instigator of my all my yard To Do Lists! He's been absolutely wonderful and if I've felt guilty it's been my own feelings of inadequacy and not because he's been trying to make me feel that way. I love him dearly for the man he is. And even more dearly for all the love he's shown me in the last few months!
More blessings. Chad recently had his screening colonoscopy to check up on the surgery site and to r/o signs of further inflammation that could indicate crohn's disease. The doctor said things looked "beautiful". Don't hear that very often in reference to a colon! Chad has bragging rights :) But to Chad's chagrin his recommendation was a "high fiber diet". To someone who has declared on multiple occasions that he is allergic to fiber... this was not good news! But he's a good sport and only lightly glares at me when I begin to mommy him.
Jaedyn has been such a good big sister lately. She, I think, is beginning to realize the value of a live-in playmate. I love to see her take her sister by the hand and lead her around to the next activity. She won't let Lilia carry a single thing on the stairs and is always eager to do it for her. Lately they've been "reading" books together and it is the cutest thing ever! If I hadn't taken the pictures with my phone instead of the camera I'd totally show you so you could all "aaawwww" and agree with me :) I usually hear her end the stories, "That's all, I think". It's cute to hear her remembering the words. Her new favorite thing is riding bikes and she's constantly out there asking for a friend to ride with her, or me, or by herself. The other day we were riding around the cul-de-sac for over an hour and she stops and says, "mom, my legs are REALLY tired, but I'm still going! Daddy had to stop and rest" This made me chuckle. Chad had stopped to visit with a neighbor.
Yesterday at church was a toughie! Jaedyn ended up in time out in the foyer. When I'd finally calmed down enough to talk to her about things (seriously I was frustrated beyond belief! You should have seen those girls! ack!) I walked over to the corner and we had a little talk. As part of the talk she had to come up with a few ideas for how to be reverent next Sunday. We'll see if they hold. The other ward was getting out of church at this point and Jaedyn asked if Church was over? I told her no, only Sacrament meeting was. She looked so puzzled and then asked, "Then how are all these people escaping?" Oh how I love those moments! Thank goodness they outshine the others!
Lilia... my how she's growing. Ok well maybe not really growing. My how she's developing. That's more accurate. I love that little shrimp with her chubby cheeks! Her vocabulary is exploding! And I love the little almost-2-year-old pronunciations! Almost everything she says is in this cute little falsetto... come to think of it, I'm not sure she has a regular voice! Every disney movie she sees, during the opening when the fairy taps the castle and lights it up with that musical ditty she high-pitched, excitedly says "Lella!" Um, I'm not really sure. But its freakin cute!
Lilia is so adventurous and a little dare devil. She loves to be outside and jumping on the little tramp or climbing all over the swing set. She loves Duke dearly and a few days ago discovered his ears. She giggled and giggled as she manipulated them all over the place and discovered that blowing in them produced quite the reaction! Books are her favorite thing ever and I swear we'd read nonstop if that's all we had to do. The little crazy doesn't really play with toys. She picks them up, moves them to another room, drops them, and goes for more. It drives me crazy!
The Weather! Beautiful. It came just in time. I literally thought I was gonna go crazy! We've moved out doors again! And it is gorgeous! We've been working on several little yard projects, the most recent of which involved planting a mini fruit orchard in our "useless side yard" as Chad called it. Can't wait for that one to pan out! I finally own not one, but 2 peach trees! Really excited for the fruit of that labor!
I'm still plugging along at xfit at 5:15 am, proud that that lasted through the first trimester. I had my doubts. Despite my efforts I'm watching myself get rounder :) Work is going well, and I'm grateful that I just work 2 days a week. I'm getting ready to start planning a dual bday party for the girls (per Jaedyn's request) and getting excited for summer, and swim lessons, and camping, hiking, biking and soaking up the sun... with sunscreen of course.
