Funny Story

Soooooo. We have a beautiful new painting hanging in our living room. Let me tell you the story. Chad and I were at Deseret Book looking for a CD. I had to sing for Relief Society and it was either buy the CD to help familiarize myself with the music or buy a piano and plunk out the melody (my vote was the piano but I lost). Anyway, while we were there I saw a painting hanging on the wall that caught my eye because I had never seen it before. That was unusual because in the church we tend to see a lot of the art repeated. I casually pointed it out to Chad and was surprised how excited he seemed about it. I went to pay for the CD and he hung out by the painting the whole time hesitating because he really wanted to get it. We've sworn off impulse buying so went home without a painting that night.
A couple of weeks went by and conversations kept going back to this painting. Finally I decided, I'm ready to hang something real in my house so I went back to the bookstore to buy it. It was gone. I was crushed. I asked the sales lady if they had another, she knew exactly which painting I was talking about and told me she had just sold it the night before. She told me it was discontinued and would not be able to get another but she would check with her other store to see if they carried it. She called the store across town and to my delight they had one left. They put it on hold for me and I rushed across town. Halfway there I got this feeling that I should call my husband and tell him that I was going to purchase the painting. He played dumb at first but finally admitted he had bought the other one and it was home in our attic waiting for our anniversary! I spoiled the surprise! Dang it, that would have been so fun. Once I knew we had it though I couldn't let it sit in our dusty old attic so that night Chad crawled up and got it out and it is now hanging above our couch. It is called "No Man Knoweth the Hour" (by Liz Swindle) and I love it! Love you too Babe! (and Happy Anniversary on April 23!!)

For all of you who made the request. Here is a picture of our canvas print from an online source (ours is framed of course).

Catching Up

I've got a lot of blogging to do. I'm just procrastinating because it takes FOREVER for pictures to download on my blog (I'll do that later). I think I should write our internet company and complain :)
Jaedyn hit 9 1/2 months and her development EXPLODED! She went from being our little baby to... well, she's changed a lot! Suddenly she's working on 4 teeth, fake laughing (it's hilarious!), stepping (only with help mind you), clapping, dancing, saying "mama" (finally, good grief!), reaching, waving, and 3 days before she turned 10 months she started to crawl... WOOHOO (who doubted she'd miss the mark?) She's been so much fun.
We went to my parents this last weekend and got to see Chris and Laura, their kids and Wes and Rebecca and their kids. Chris came from DC and Wes came up from Vegas. It has been so long since I've seen them, the kids have all grown so much and are just stinkin cute! We had a few late nights playing games (nothing new there!) and basically just hung out and gossiped (of course the guys wouldn't call it that). Chad and I went out to look at a car in Malad and so the family babysat Jaedyn while we were gone. When we came back they told us that Jaedyn was playing with one of Makayla's dolls and was loving it. One of her favorite things to do is to rub her hand in front of her mouth while she's making noise cuz she loves how it makes her voice wobble. I guess she was doing that and then would cover the dolls mouth and try to get the doll to do it too. She's just in this world of discovery and watching her begin to make connections and understand concepts just amazes me! She really is the light of our lives! She's feeling much better now too. After being sick for 3 1/2 weeks and losing almost a pound our little girl is happy and energetic again. Now maybe she'll start gaining weight so we can try out the new carseat!
